The YNB-555/YNB-555R coating thickness gauge measures nonmagnetic coatings on magnetic metal substrates and nonmetallic coatings on nonmagnetic metal substrates. It can automatically identify the substrate type and is commonly used in automotive manufacturing inspection, metal processing, the chemical industry, and goods inspection. The display supports single measurement (SNG), continuous measurement (CTN), differential measurement (DIF), maximum (MAX), minimum (MIN), average (AVG), and calibration mode (CAL). It displays metric units in m and mm, as well as mil (1 mil = 0.0254 mm = 25.4 m). The Steel mode is for magnetic metal substrates, Al mode is for nonmagnetic metal substrates, and Galvanized mode is for magnetic metal substrates with nonmagnetic metal components in the coating, such as zinc, aluminum, or copper. Batteries are not included. Use two 1.5 V AAA batteries; do not use carbon batteries. Before measuring a car, ensure that the engine is switched off and the body has returned to normal temperature. After extended use in subzero temperatures, the device may freeze; this is not a quality problem. Restart the device and calibrate it again at the same temperature. Remove the protective film from the screen before use.
