Thoth Tarot, 78 Cards

Description

The Thoth Tarot deck was created in the 1940s by Aleister Crowley, a renowned magician, poet, writer, and founder of the philosophy of Thelema. In this deck, named after the ancient Egyptian god of wisdom, Crowley presented all his magical knowledge, while Lady Frieda Harris, a talented artist, captured it in drawings. Due to their ambiguity, Aleister Crowley's cards became one of the most popular decks of our time. Whereas in earlier Tarot decks the theme of a card was conveyed through simple and clear images, Crowley made the card illustrations abstract, expressing the meaning of the arcana through complex symbolism rooted in magic, astrology, alchemy, Kabbalah, Mediterranean and Celtic traditions, as well as the secret mythology of Ancient Egypt.
