Fragrant woods and herbs for incense burning and fumigation. Sweetgrass is a pleasantly scented grass native to North America and Canada. Depending on its origin, it is also called buffalo grass or bison grass; the European variety is known as sweet vernal grass. The North American variety is considerably more intensely scented than European sweet vernal grass. Sweetgrass is traditionally described as clarifying, balancing, calming, relaxing, energetically cleansing, and harmonizing. It is used for meditation, karmic cleansing, sweat lodges, invocation ceremonies, love rituals, shamanic incense blends, energetic home cleansing, and during the Rauhnchte.
