STROFT GTP Type R fishing line: Type R is the established GTP line, previously offered in strengths Type 1 through Type 12, now designated Type R1 through Type R12. The R stands for round and tight. The range was expanded last year with Types R01 through R06. These are extremely fine lines with diameters of approximately 0.06 mm to 0.13 mm and breaking strengths from 1.5 kg to 4.0 kg. Until now, it was not possible to produce lines this fine because the individual fibers were not fine enough, resulting in too few fibers per braid strand. A new, even finer UHMWPE fiber now makes this range possible. Type R is manufactured using specialized braiding processes. The STROFT special braid, consisting of up to 300 x 8 = 2,400 individual fibers in Type R12, produces an almost circular line cross-section with arrow-like dimples on the surface. During casting, these dimples create turbulent airflow that reduces air resistance and enables longer casts, similar to the dimples on a golf ball. Available colors are light gray, green, orange, fluorescent pink, light blue, dark brown, and multicolor. With the multicolor version, the line color changes every 10 meters. Special features: roundness, internal strength, air resistance.
