Stainless steel strip is a flat finished product made from austenitic stainless steel. It is acid-resistant and easy to weld. Due to its low carbon content, the steel offers good resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding for thicknesses up to 5 mm. It can be used at temperatures up to 600C. V2A strip has very good polishability and is one of the stainless steel grades most commonly used commercially. Because of its susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking, stainless steel strip is unsuitable for applications in swimming pools and seawater. Thanks to its excellent properties, stainless steel foil is used in the following areas: automotive manufacturing, including the production of various body components; the food industry, for producing equipment, containers, and similar items; aircraft manufacturing, for producing complex profiles; construction, including architecture, pipeline construction, and ventilation duct manufacturing; the chemical industry, for transport and storage containers; and furniture manufacturing, for fastening and decorative elements and fittings. Stainless steel strip is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance, resistance to acids, good heat and weather resistance, and good processing properties, including weldability and machinability.
