This ER collet is used for CNC milling, lathe tools, and engraving machine workholding. The collet must be inserted into the collet nut before being installed in the collet chuck. Installation and removal instructions: Insert the collet into the nut, turn it slightly, and wait until the eccentric part of the nut engages with the groove of the retaining ring. Press the collet evenly into the nut. Mount the collet and nut together on the chuck body or machine-tool spindle. Insert the engraving tool into the collet opening, then tighten the nut with a wrench until the engraving tool is firmly clamped. To replace the engraving tool, use a wrench to loosen the nut and remove the chuck and engraving tool. Remove the engraving tool, press the collet to take it out, and then replace it with another size as needed.
