The new SKF radial shaft seals in the HMS5 and HMSA10 series comply with the seals standardized in DIN 3760:1996 and ISO 6194-1:1982, featuring an elastomer-covered outer surface. They are used in a very broad range of industrial applications, such as gearboxes. They are particularly suitable for sealing oil- or grease-lubricated rolling bearings. If the sealing lip also needs protection against the ingress of dust and small solid contaminants, SKF recommends using HMSA10 series radial shaft seals with a dust lip.
