The switch is equipped with a temperature-sensitive bimetal disc that actuates the thermally and electrically isolated contacts, which open when the ambient or surface temperature rises to the operating snap point of the metal disc. Features and benefits: This RS PRO bimetal thermal switch was designed for temperature monitoring and control in a wide range of electrical products, such as coffee makers, smoke detectors, heating systems, boilers and much more. Each thermostat is 12.4 mm (1/2 in) high, making it a compatible replacement part for a wide range of devices or suitable for new installations and designs requiring temperature sensors. These snap-action thermostats are available with automatic or manual reset options, phenolic, PPS or ceramic housings that provide dust-tight performance, and a variety of mounting brackets and terminal options. In addition, the switches offer a rapid response time to temperature changes due to the low mass of the disc and the compact size of the thermostat switch itself.
