Description

• Red PVC-U round rod, 12 mm diameter; available in lengths from 25 to 2,000 mm. Select the desired length from the list.
• Suitable for turning, milling, drilling, and sawing with cooling.
• Material: PVC-U, rigid PVC, extruded according to DIN 16980, without plasticizers.
• Color: red; good bonding properties; high chemical resistance.
• Machinability: good with cooling.
• Tensile strength/yield stress according to DIN 53455: approximately 40% = 50 N/mm.
• Operating temperature: continuously -10C to +60C; temporarily up to +70C.
• Surface: unfinished/raw and may show storage marks; cut surfaces and edges are unfinished.
• Cut to the selected length. Tolerances: length approximately +0.0 to 2 mm; outside diameter max. +3% to 5%.
• Versatile applications: seals, piping, drilling templates, spacers, optical materials, strips, pump and valve bodies, insulators, and professional projects.

PVC round rod supplied as raw material or semi-finished material for machining. Made of polyvinyl chloride/thermoplastic, it is supplied raw, may show storage marks, and is roughly sawn to length with unfinished cut surfaces and edges. Suitable for seals, piping, drilling templates, spacers, optical materials, strips, pump and valve bodies, and insulators. The length tolerance is approximately +0.1 to 2 mm, and the diameter tolerance is always in the plus range. The material offers high mechanical strength, stiffness, and hardness; good bonding, electrical insulation, and machinability with cooling; high abrasion and wear resistance; good emergency running properties; high chemical resistance; self-extinguishing behavior; low water absorption; and good bonding and painting properties. It has low toughness, is not UV-resistant, and is only conditionally weather-resistant. Tensile strength or yield stress according to DIN 53455 is 50 N/mm, with yield stress according to DIN 53455 of approximately 40%. The dry tensile-test modulus of elasticity according to DIN 53457 is 3,000 N/mm, ball indentation hardness according to DIN 53456 is 130 N/mm, the crystalline melting range is 125C, and the thermal expansion coefficient is 0.08 mm/mC. Operating temperature is continuously -10C to +60C and temporarily up to +70C. Specific surface resistance is >10 Ohm, density is 1.4 g/cm. Not suitable for food contact and not permanently UV-resistant. The product image is representative and may show a similar item.
