Polyvinyl chloride is flame-retardant, exceptionally resistant to chemicals, and tends to develop only a low degree of stress cracking. It has high strength, stiffness, and hardness. The continuous service temperature of PVC-U is between -15 C and approximately +60 C. It can be bonded and welded. Properties: high mechanical strength, stiffness, and hardness; good electrical insulation; high chemical resistance; self-extinguishing; low water absorption; good bondability and paintability; low toughness; only conditionally weather-resistant.
