Extra-short, multi-purpose twist drill bit with cylindrical shank. The AlTiN coating consists of aluminum (Al), titanium (Ti), and nitrogen (N). Compared with TiN, the coating provides substantially higher heat insulation (900C) and hardness (3,3003,500 HV versus 550C and 2,300 HV for TiN). It is primarily used under high wear and/or high thermal loads, such as with insufficient lubrication or without cooling. The AlTiN coating combines the advantages of TiN, TiAlN, and TiCN. Unlike typical all-purpose coatings, it is designed to deliver high performance and can replace these three conventional coatings over the long term. Higher wear protection than TiN. Additional high-temperature resistance. Universal applications. Up to 4 times higher performance than TiN is possible. Improved performance through higher cutting speeds and larger feed rates. High toughness. Applications: all-purpose coating, minimum-quantity lubrication, machining aluminum, and especially deep-hole drilling. Use: for medium- and long-chipping materials with a maximum tensile strength of 1,200 N/mm; aluminum, copper, and AlSi alloys; soft bronze; electrolytic copper; tough brass; stainless steels; V2A and V4A steels; titanium; and titanium alloys. Packaging: loose in bags, 10 pieces per bag up to 10 mm; 5 pieces per bag from 10.2 mm; 1 piece per bag from 14.5 mm.
