ProDec is the UK's largest and most widely used brand of decorating tools and accessories. Painting masonry surfaces can be difficult, and just as choosing the right paint is important, selecting the right roller is essential for achieving the best results while avoiding time-consuming and costly rework. Specially designed for textured surfaces, this trade-quality paint roller was developed with one key purpose: durability. While softer fabrics can quickly break down and tear, this roller features an especially robust polyamide fabric. Polyamide also has the highest abrasion resistance of all textile raw materials when wet, helping the roller withstand the demands of rough and very rough surfaces such as brick, breeze block, cement, heavily textured plaster, stucco and pebbledash. The fabric is machine-woven, giving the fibres a double anchor with low linting and excellent durability. It withstands heavy use and washes out well after use, allowing the roller to be reused. The 25 mm extra-long nap provides maximum paint loadingessential for efficient masonry painting, so less frequent reloading is requiredand effectively reaches into surface textures for fast application without missing areas. The roller is 300 mm wide and ideal for quickly covering walls when used with an extension pole. It has a 44 mm diameter core, so ensure that you have a compatible double-arm roller frame. For best results, wash the roller in cold or lukewarm water before first use to remove loose fibres. Stand the roller on its end and allow it to dry completely before use, ideally overnight. The roller can also be used with emulsion paints, such as matt, silk and eggshell, on walls and ceilings, including medium- to heavily textured plaster such as Artex, when a high-quality finish is not essential. For a smoother finish, especially on interior walls, use a 12 mm medium-nap roller, as polyamide is a coarse fabric and a long-nap roller such as this is designed to lay down a thicker coat, providing excellent coverage but not the smoothest finish.
