PFERD flap wheel set F 5030/6 A. The set contains a selection of flap wheels for general-purpose use from rough to fine grinding. The abrasive flaps are arranged radially in a fan shape around the tool axis. Their flexibility allows them to adapt ideally to the contours of the workpiece. The abrasive grain is embedded in a resin bond on a tensile-strength, flexible fabric backing. Flap wheels are classified under ISO 3919 as mounted flap wheels. Contents: 3 flap wheels with aluminum oxide abrasive, A; outside diameter 50 mm; width 30 mm; 6 mm shank; 1 each of grit sizes 60, 80, and 120. Recommended speed: 7,000 rpm. Maximum speed: 15,200 rpm. Suitable workpiece materials: steel, cast steel, aluminum, copper, zinc, cast iron, plastics, and other materials. Applications: leveling, deburring, surface work, weld seam treatment, texturing such as matting, directional matting, and satin finishing, and progressive fine grinding. Suitable tool drives: flexible shaft drive and straight grinders. For best performance, use at the recommended cutting speed of 1520 m/s. This provides an ideal balance between material removal, surface quality, thermal load on the workpiece, and tool wear. Use grinding oil suitable for the material to significantly increase tool service life and grinding performance. Safety instructions: For safety reasons, never exceed the specified maximum permissible speed. Reduce the applied pressure significantly if the specified recommended speed is exceeded. Safety is ensured only if the clamping length is at least 15 mm and the specified maximum speed is not exceeded with exposed shank lengths.
