This turning tool with the standard designation SRDCN0808D06 has an 8 x 8 mm shank and an overall length of 61 mm. The cutting insert is made of sintered carbide. Unlike HSS tools, carbide's high temperature resistance allows higher cutting speeds. In addition, the insert is titanium nitride coated, which contributes to higher heat resistance and longer service life. TiN-coated inserts are intended for universal use, meaning that both soft materials and hard workpieces can be machined. For special applications, this carbide insert can be replaced with another insert suited to the material being machined. These special indexable inserts are available in our range. Standard inserts can also be reordered from us individually or in sets of 10.
