O-ring 8 x 1.6 mm, compliant with DIN 3771/ISO 3601. Inside diameter d1: 8 mm. Cord diameter d2: 1.6 mm. Material: FKM/FPM, Shore hardness 80. Usable from approx. -15C to approx. +200C; for water only up to approx. +80C. Resistant to mineral oils and greases, aliphatic, aromatic, and chlorinated hydrocarbons, fuels, and many organic solvents and chemicals. Not resistant to steam, hot water, glycol-based brake fluids, organic acids, and similar substances. O-rings are ring-shaped sealing elements with a circular cross-section. They are also known as zero rings, round rings, general sealing rings, or sealing rings. Function: O-rings provide sealing both radially and axially. The sealing effect begins through the compression created during installation. The resulting system pressure further increases the sealing effect. O-rings are primarily used in stationary machine components. Material: The O-ring material is decisive for the application conditions. In addition to temperature, the medium in which the O-ring is installed is important. Various materials with different properties are available for manufacturing O-rings. Material selection depends on operating conditions such as the media contacting the O-ring, operating temperature, whether the application is static or dynamic, and the pressures involved.
