Countersunk sheet metal screws with a TORX drive. Sheet metal screws do not require a pre-cut thread. With thin sheet metal, pre-drilling may be omitted; otherwise, pre-drill using a bit with the appropriate core hole diameter. Use a low rotational speed with a cordless screwdriver or drill. Countersunk sheet metal screws cut deeply into the material with their heads and should therefore not be used without countersinking first. Unlike other metal screws, sheet metal screws do not have a metric thread. Instead, they are tapered, similar to wood screws. They can be identified by their compact shape and the thread extending all the way to the screw head. Thread-locking compound is generally not required. Sheet metal screws are used to join sheet metal in profiled sheets, facade cladding, and load-bearing structures. Suitable sheet metal materials include stainless steel, aluminum, steel, brass, nickel, and copper. A sheet metal screw connection can be removed again at any time. These screws are made of corrosion-resistant A2/V2A stainless steel and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Stainless steel sheet metal screws are only suitable for use with soft metals.
