NHL 5 Natural Hydraulic Lime, 4.5 kg

Description

• 4.5 kg NHL 5 natural hydraulic lime.

The NHL binder is produced from naturally composed marl through a gentle firing process, followed by careful slaking and fine grinding. No hydraulic or other foreign substances are added. NHL is used and recommended as a cement-free supplementary binder for air-lime plasters and air-lime mortars. It is also recommended and used as a supplementary binder for the restoration and conservation of plaster and architectural surfaces in monuments, churches, and historic buildings. The combined carbonation and hydraulic hardening of NHL 3.5 in mortars and plasters results in favorable strength development and good elasticity of air-lime plasters. Benefits of NHL include: simultaneous carbonation and hydraulic hardening; unrestricted vapor permeability; support for carbon dioxide transport in air-lime materials; support for moisture regulation; a natural raw material without foreign additives; good workability; slow, consistent strength development without surface tension; and high sulfate resistance. NHL is added to air-lime plasters, particularly in critical areas such as plinths, horizontal plaster surfaces exposed to water, and similar applications, at up to 810% of the mortar binder content.
