The long fiberglass rod with a sturdy plastic plate is mounted to the chainsaw's bar-mounting bolt using a pin. The included combination wrench makes installation quick and easy. Thanks to the one-handed quick fastener, the length gauge can be attached or removed in an instant without putting down the chainsaw.
