Blokus R1983 is a strategy game for the whole family. Easy to understand for beginners and a real challenge for experienced players, with countless possible combinations. Each player chooses a color and places pieces of that color starting from the corners of the game board. Pieces of the same color must be connected, but may touch only at the corners, never along the sides. The game ends when a player has placed all of their pieces or no player can place any more. Players score points based on the pieces they were unable to place. Each unplaced square counts as 1 negative point. A player receives 15 bonus points for placing all 21 pieces and 20 bonus points if the final piece placed is the single-square piece. The player with the highest score wins. Play proceeds in this order: blue, yellow, red, green. Colors are assigned randomly, and each player takes the corresponding pieces. The starting player places a piece so that one square covers a corner square of the board. Each newly placed piece must touch one or more corners of the player's own pieces. A piece may not be placed edge-to-edge against an already placed piece of the same color. There are no restrictions on how pieces of different colors may touch. Once placed, a piece may not be moved. Each player has 21 pieces in a different shape set: one piece with 1 square, one with 2 squares, two with 3 squares, five with 4 squares, and twelve with 5 squares. The set includes one game board with 400 squares and 84 pieces, with 21 pieces in each of four colors. Additional game variations are possible. Blokus is based on the original concept by Bernard Tavitian. Warning: Read the instructions thoroughly before using the toy. Product condition ranges from very good, with clean and tidy game materials, to good, with normal signs of use on the game box, such as bumped edges and cover scuffing.
