To do this, the hole must first be counterbored using a counterbore tool. The screw can be secured with a nut or threaded into a metal thread. A standard Allen key can be used with the screw. DIN 912 M3 socket head cap screws are available in various lengths from 5 to 50 mm. The metric screws are made of electroplated zinc-plated steel. The zinc-plated surface provides corrosion protection. The cross-section of the socket head screws remains consistent over their entire length. The selected length is the screw length excluding the head thickness.
