Hex bolts according to DIN 933 or ISO 4017 are fully threaded bolts. The thread extends along the entire shaft to directly beneath the head. The specified bolt length is measured to the underside of the head, excluding the head height. Hex bolts are used to join metal parts together with hex nuts and washers. They are also known as wrench bolts because they are tightened with a wrench. They are suitable for general use, particularly where the bolts may need to be retightened or where there is insufficient space to use a screwdriver vertically.
