To do this, the hole must first be counterbored using a piloted counterbore. A nut can be used for fastening, or the screw can be threaded into a metal thread. DIN 7984 socket head cap screws are available in different lengths. These metric screws are made of electrogalvanized steel. The zinc-plated surface protects the screws against corrosion. The cross-section of the socket head cap screws remains consistent over the entire length. The selected length is the screw length excluding the head thickness.
