The Korda Wide Gape is a classic carp hook that has proven its effectiveness over many years. This pattern is an evolution of the legendary Maruta Kinryu, optimized for modern anglers with an eye instead of a spade end. Its unique geometry, featuring a short shank, heavily forged bend, and slightly inturned eye, provides excellent hooking efficiency. The chemically sharpened, beaked point engages quickly and securely in the fish's mouth. Once hooked, the Wide Gape stays in place and helps minimize the risk of losing fish during the fight. These features make it a versatile choice for almost all modern carp rigs, whether fishing with pop-ups or bottom baits. For waters where barbed hooks are prohibited, the Wide Gape B barbless version is available. For extreme conditions or particularly hard-fighting fish, the reinforced Wide Gape X and Wide Gape XX models provide additional strength. Each pack contains 10 hooks.
