KIPP handwheels are designed for manually turning a shaft. They are primarily used as control elements in mechanical and systems engineering to make adjustments or settings through manual rotary movements. They are mounted on fittings, machine tools, and geared motors, where they can, for example, open and close valves. The handwheel can also be used to move individual machine parts in emergency operation. To transfer the hand-operated rotary motion effectively to the machine parts being adjusted or positioned, the handwheels are connected to the shaft by a key-and-keyway connection or, alternatively, by clamping. For easier operation, a handwheel with a crank can also be installed. The product range includes a wide variety of versions, from aluminum spoked handwheels and plastic disk handwheels to handwheels made of gray cast iron according to DIN 950. Versions made of thermoset and thermoplastic materials are also available. The NOVO grip design line also offers ergonomically shaped handwheels.
