Kanirope Dyneema PRO rope, 10 mm in diameter and 25 m long, in black. The rope is 12-strand braided, made from stretched and coated Dyneema SK78, and has a breaking load of 9,000 daN (kg) with a working elongation of less than 1%. Weight is 6.00 kg/100 m. This quality product is manufactured in Germany from high-quality Dyneema yarns. Dyneema is a synthetic fiber based on ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), also known as high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE). Dyneema ropes, cordage, and lines are extremely abrasion-resistant, have very low elongation, and offer high resistance to abrasion, moisture, UV radiation, and chemicals. They are also very lightweight, buoyant, flexible, easy to splice, and durable. Dyneema ropes can be used as an alternative to steel cables. In applications requiring high breaking load, low weight, and minimal elongation, Dyneema ropes are often a suitable choice. The fiber properties listed by the manufacturer include 40% higher strength by mass than aramid fiber, 60% higher strength than carbon and glass fiber, nearly five times the strength of polyamide, polyester, and polypropylene fibers, and up to 15 times the strength of steel. Additional properties: 0% strength loss from moisture, 0% water absorption, 3550% knot strength, good lightfastness and abrasion resistance, 3.8% breaking elongation, washing temperature of 30C, no effect from 50% concentrated acids or gasoline, diesel, and lubricating oil, slight effect from solvents, resistance to alkalies, excellent electrical insulation, a softening temperature of approximately 120C, and a melting temperature of approximately 150C.
