Shaabi frankincense from Oman, Boswellia sacra, 25250 grams. Depending on the climate and harvest, Omani frankincense can range in color from white, yellowish, amber, dark, and slightly greenish. Dark brown Omani frankincense is relatively rare and comes from coastal areas. Because the frankincense tree receives relatively high moisture, the resin becomes brownish and cloudy. It looks quite unusual but has a very intense aroma, which is why it is often used for distillation. I import frankincense only from farmers who respect nature and do not harvest excessive quantities. Latin name: Boswellia sacra Harvest location: Dhofar Mountains, Oman Aroma: Fruity, slightly spicy and intense, with a delicate lemon note Incense-burning advice: I believe that the resin of a treeits blooddoes not belong on charcoal except as part of a ritual. It is better to burn frankincense and other resins on an incense burner, allowing the intense fragrance of the frankincense to develop and take effect more fully, without smoke. An incense burner is available in this shop. A video showing how to burn frankincense, along with practical recipes such as how to make frankincense salve, can be found at http://www.weihrauch-blog.de. Packaging: This frankincense is supplied in an aroma-sealed paper bag with incense-burning instructions. Legal information: Burning raw materials is not a substitute for medical or therapeutic treatment. The herbs and resins sold are intended exclusively for incense burning. If you have asthma or, for example, epilepsy, ask your doctor whether incense burning is suitable for you. Please be aware of the risk of fire when burning incense. Always place your incense vessel on a stable surface. Incense materials should always be stored out of the reach of children and animals.
