Product description The world-famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (18981976) designed this vase, which was named after him. Aalto drew inspiration from the forms of Finnish nature for his modern style, making him one of Finland's best-known designers. Aalto designed the Aalto Vase in 1936. At the time, its asymmetrical wave form and simple beauty were considered revolutionary. He won a competition to create new Finnish design for the World's Fair in Paris. Today, the Aalto is regarded as a symbol of 20th-century glass design. It is mouth-blown and a true masterpiece of glassblowing craftsmanship. Its shape allows flowers to be rearranged in many different ways. Legal notice Private sale
