HAresil hive protection paint/stain is a weather- and UV-resistant, mineral-based wood protection coating specially designed for treating beehives, bee houses, wooden hive boxes, protective roofs, and other wooden components used in beekeeping. It protects outdoor wood from weather influences such as rain and sun, as well as wood-damaging pests. It also provides protection against plant-based wood-destroying pests such as fungi, mold, and blue stain fungi. The coating is a special mixture of alkali silicates in water and inorganic mineral pigments. It contains no harmful ingredients, is bee-safe, pesticide-free, insecticide-free, solvent-free, emission-free, and biocide-free. The product is ECO-certified and vegan, recommended by beekeepers, based on renewable raw materials, and packaged in food-safe packaging. Available colors are yellow, brown, green, pine yellow/orange, red, and blue. Brand: Armbruster Holzpflege / HAresil. Made in Germany. Application: The wood surface must be free of dust and grease. Remove all previous coatings and stains before application. Stir very thoroughly for at least 23 minutes before use, and apply at temperatures above freezing. Apply by brush or roller. Two coats are required, with a waiting time of approximately 2 hours between coats. After approximately 48 hours of drying time, the treated hive can be set up. Coverage: Depending on the absorbency of the surface, approximately 160 g/m for planed wood. For rough-sawn wood, coverage is approximately 300 g/m.
