Product description Aircraft also revolutionized Herpa, the Franconian manufacturer of model vehicles. There is hardly a model aircraft that Herpa has not reproduced at a small scale. The model range has been continuously expanded to include aircraft types from civil and military aviation, as well as accessories for airport dioramas, miniature worlds, and model railways. At the 1:500 scale alone, more than 3,500 model aircraft representing over 100 different aircraft types and almost 600 airlinesfrom Lufthansa, Ryanair, Eurowings, and Air France to Emirateshave been produced. The ongoing improvement in the quality of the aircraft models and their increasing level of detail speak for themselves. Starting in 1990 with a Boeing B-52, the three-stage ... In 1932, exactly 90 years ago, the Junkers Ju-52/3m, the three-engine and by far the most important version of the legendary Aunt Ju, made its maiden flight. The Lufthansa Ju-52 is a classic and enduring favorite in the Herpa range, virtually since the early days of the Wings series (item no. 019040). Less well known is that British European Airways operated ten Ju-52 aircraft between 1946 and 1948. The United Kingdom government founded BEA in 1946, initially for European flights and, from 1947, also for domestic flights. To meet this need, BEA operated a mixed fleet that also included ten Ju-52 aircraft captured from defeated Germany. Because Junkers sounds like "junk" in English, BEA simply renamed the aircraft Jupiter. They were used exclusively on domestic routes. Although they were quite popular with flight crews, a lack of spare parts for the BMW engines led to their early retirement after just two years. Warnings According to the manual.
