Silicone rubber heating wire for a variety of heating applications. The insulated, solid-core cable has a nickel-chromium or copper-nickel alloy heating element and rubber insulation. Voltage range: 5220 V. Color: white. Service life: more than 30,000 hours. Resistance options are 0.3, 0.6, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 38, 50, 60, 74, 90, 120, 180, 256, 362, or 588 /m. Power can be calculated using P = U/(L R), where U is voltage, L is heating-wire length, and R is resistance per meter. For example, 5 m of 0.6 /m wire at 12 V uses (12 12)/(5 0.6) = 48 W, or 9.6 W/m. Approximate reference values are 5 W/m: 3040 degrees, 10 W/m: 4050 degrees, 15 W/m: 5060 degrees, and 20 W/m: 6070 degrees. Actual results may vary with testing conditions. Applications include heating blankets, cushions, pet mats, jade mattresses, electric belts, heated clothing, electric shoes, refrigerators, air conditioners, freezer defrosting, rice-cooker insulation, pool baths, heated towel rails, pipe-tank frost protection, window heating, and appliances.
