The DTECH USB-to-Serial RS-232 adapter is designed for PCs and laptops with a USB port, allowing older RS232 devices to connect through a standard USB Type-A port. It features a 9-pin DB9 male connector with thumbscrews for the RS232 connection and a Prolific PL2303 chipset. The adapter supports data communication and serial device connectivity for equipment such as PDAs, GPS systems, routers, barcode readers, label printers, control printers, serial modems, digital cameras, radios, card readers, mobile phones, and ISDN terminal adapters. It provides full RS-232 modem control and data signals: DCD, RxD, TxD, DTR, GND, DSR, RTS, CTS, and RI. The cable is plug and play, and the driver may be detected and installed automatically after connection. If manual installation is required, the driver can be downloaded from the Prolific website under Product Application > SIO > USB to UART/Serial/Printer. Compatible systems include Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista, 2000, 98, Mac, and Linux. This product is a USB-to-serial DB9 cable, not a USB-to-VGA adapter; VGA uses a 15-pin DB15 connector.
