The hex-head wood screw, also known as a coach screw, is widely used for structural timber construction and for dowel mounting on solid substrates such as concrete and rock. The partial thread ensures that both components are drawn together flush and completely. With its robust wood thread and strong shaft, this coach screw withstands high tensile and compressive loads and provides high contact pressure, delivering the required strength even in heavily loaded screw connections. It also features a sharp, pointed tip and sharp-edged thread for easy penetration of the material. Pre-drilling the material is nevertheless recommended. The external hex drive makes these screws particularly suitable for difficult-to-access installations, as they can be tightened with an open-end wrench, socket wrench or torque wrench. Made from high-quality stainless steel, this screw can be used in dry areas, damp rooms and outdoors. It offers high corrosion protection, weather resistance and durability. We recommend using it with DIN 9021 washers, which are also available in our shop.
