Tap information: The Drill America DWT Series hand tap is a versatile tap for hand use or powered tapping. It is suitable for general machine tapping and CNC tapping, and for tapping most materials in through-hole or blind-hole applications. Taper style starts the thread squarely with the workpiece. Plug style is generally used in through-holes. Bottoming style generates threads to the bottom of the hole. The set includes taper, plug, and bottoming taps. Drill bit information: The Drill America DWDN Series high-speed steel drill bit is a reliable general-purpose bit designed for a wide range of materials in the iron and steel families. It is ideal for production, maintenance, or portable drilling. The surface is treated with abrasion-resistant black oxide. This treatment provides lubricity and creates small pockets on the tool surface that hold coolant near the cutting edge. Round shanks allow use with a variety of tool holder systems. When run counterclockwise for right-hand cutting, spiral-fluted tools remove chips upward and out of the cut to help reduce clogging.
