Creating one is particularly straightforward when you use a preformed basin such as this polyethylene basin, which is perfectly suited for outdoor use. The polyethylene basin has a capacity of 150 L and is made of robust, weather-resistant polyethylene. Simply place it in a previously excavated hole, plant it, and fill it with water. The basin is so stable that it can easily remain in place for several years; however, it should be completely emptied in winter to prevent frost damage. Tips for creating a mini pond The ideal location for the pond is sunny, sheltered from the wind, and partially shaded in the afternoon. Once you have found the right spot and excavated a hole, place the polyethylene basin in it and refill the edges with soil. Then fill the watertight polyethylene basin with substrate and cover it with pebbles. It is best to place the plants in a planting basket prepared with substrate and cover this with a layer of gravel as well. Now add water and move the planting baskets into the appropriate positions. Then sit back in your garden chair and admire your new focal point. Which plants are suitable There are suitable plants for every water depth. With the help of stones, you can also create two different water zones in the polyethylene basin.
