This copper square bar, designated Cu-ETP, is electrolytically refined, oxygen-bearing copper. The copper content is at least 99.9%, while the oxygen content is no more than 0.04%. Due to the risk of hydrogen embrittlement, the material is not suitable for welding. It offers excellent cold and hot formability and is highly suitable for soft soldering. Brazing in a reducing atmosphere and machining are not recommended. Thanks to its high electrical and thermal conductivity, copper round bar is used in heating technology, such as radiators and heat exchangers; electrical machines, such as electric motors and chokes/coils; and components, such as terminals and contact carriers. Square bar is widely used for heating and cooling technology, including heating and cooling elements; construction, such as decorative interior cladding and faades; electrical engineering and apparatus construction; shipbuilding and mechanical engineering; electrical wiring; and wire windings and chokes/coils. Copper square bar has the following properties: excellent cold and hot formability; excellent processing properties; excellent soft solderability; good corrosion resistance; not suitable for welding; not suitable for brazing in a reducing atmosphere; and poor machinability.
