Ball screw maintenance: A ball screw must be properly lubricated and kept clean at all times. Before applying lubricant, whether grease or oil, make sure the ball screw assembly is thoroughly clean and dry. We recommend lubricating ball screws under normal loads every six months and ball screws under heavy loads every three months. The appropriate lubrication method depends on several factors: - Light loads and high speeds are well suited to machine oil or low-viscosity lubricating grease. - Medium loads and speeds are well suited to NLGI 1 or NLGI 2 grease. - Heavy loads may require grease with an EP2 additive.
