Ball screw maintenance: A ball screw must be properly lubricated and kept clean at all times. Before applying lubricant, whether grease or oil, make sure the ball screw is thoroughly clean and dry. We recommend lubricating ball screws under normal loads every six months and ball screws under high loads every three months. The specific type of lubrication depends on various factors: - Light loads and high speeds are well suited to machine oil or low-viscosity grease. - Medium loads and speeds are well suited to NLGI 1 or NLGI 2 grease. - High loads may require grease with an EP2 additive.
