Class 288 double diesel locomotive of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB), finished in the purple-red livery of Era IV. Rebuilt version with a Maybach engine and no roof-mounted equipment. With four sandboxes on each side of each locomotive half. Chassis and body are largely made of metal. Both locomotive halves are motorized, with all axles powered on each half for high tractive effort. Equipped with coreless motors. The two locomotives are permanently connected by a coupling bar. Direction-dependent alternating headlight signals: 3 warm-white lights or 2 red lights, with maintenance-free LEDs. Includes engine room lighting and simulated engine-room details. Highly detailed, with finely applied and elaborate paintwork and lettering. Length over buffers: approximately 103 mm. Minimum negotiable radius: 145 mm. One additional coupling rod each for a 195 mm radius and for display-model use is included. Warning: For adults only.
