The spring steel strip, material no. 1.1248, is made of spring steel with a carbon content of 0.750.80% and a manganese content of 0.600.90%. Its main component is iron, accounting for approximately 97% by mass. C75S provides high strength and wear resistance. Material 1.1248 is not corrosion-resistant and must not be used in corrosive or extreme environments without additional surface treatment. The spring strip is hardened and tempered, has cut edges, and features a bright-polished surface. C75S steel strip is well suited for springs and wear parts where corrosion resistance is not required. Material 1.1248 is used to manufacture the following products, with or without surface treatment: forming springs, leaf springs, spring clips, retaining springs, and flat springs. C75S steel is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, good toughness, susceptibility to corrosion without additional surface treatment, and an already heat-treated condition.
