Custom-cut 8 mm ESG Satinato, frosted, matte glass panels. Available in sizes up to 90 470 cm (900 4700 mm), with ground and polished edges and blunted corners. ESG, or tempered safety glass, is thermally toughened and therefore considerably more stable than ordinary glass, particularly under impact and bending loads. It is also less sensitive when hot objects are placed on a glass tabletop, for example. If broken, ESG disintegrates into small glass granules, reducing the risk of injury. For these reasons, tempered safety glass is used for tabletops and as glass infill for doors and windows. ESG must not be modified after manufacture, for example by drilling or sawing.
