Clear 8 mm toughened safety glass panels, custom-cut up to 60 220 cm (600 2200 mm), with ground and polished edges and eased corners. Toughened safety glass is thermally hardened, making it considerably stronger than ordinary glass, particularly more resistant to impact and bending. It is also less sensitive when hot objects are placed on a glass tabletop, for example. If broken, toughened glass crumbles into small glass granules, minimizing the risk of injury. For these reasons, toughened safety glass is used for tabletops and as glass panels for door and window infills. After manufacture, toughened glass must not be further processed, for example by drilling or sawing.
