Clear, 8 mm tempered glass panels, cut to size up to 90 x 360 cm (900 x 3600 mm), with ground and polished edges and dulled corners. The tempered glass has no stamp and is resistant to bending and impact. Tempered safety glass (ESG) is thermally toughened, making it considerably more stable than standard glass, particularly more resistant to impact and bending. It is also less sensitive when hot objects, for example, are placed on a glass table top. If broken, tempered glass disintegrates into small glass granules, minimizing the risk of injury. For these reasons, tempered safety glass is used, for example, for table tops and as glass panels for door and window infills. Tempered glass must not be modified after manufacture, for example by drilling or sawing.
