6 mm clear tempered safety glass panels, cut to size up to 110 x 280 cm (1100 x 2800 mm), with ground and polished edges and eased corners. Tempered safety glass (ESG) is thermally toughened, making it considerably more stable than ordinary glass and particularly more resistant to impact and bending. It is also less sensitive when, for example, hot objects are placed on a glass table top. If it breaks, tempered glass fragments into small glass pieces, reducing the risk of injury. For these reasons, tempered safety glass is used, for example, for table tops and as glass panels for door and window infills. Tempered safety glass must not be further processed after manufacture, for example by drilling or sawing.
