5 mm clear tempered glass panels with rounded corners, custom-made up to 90 350 cm (900 3500 mm), with ground and polished edges. Tempered glass without a stamp. Tempered safety glass is thermally toughened, making it considerably more stable than standard glass and particularly more resistant to impact and bending loads. It is also less sensitive when, for example, hot objects are placed on a glass tabletop. In the event of breakage, tempered glass breaks into small glass fragments, helping to minimize the risk of injury. For these reasons, tempered safety glass is used for tabletops and as glass panels for door and window infills. After production, tempered glass must not be modified, for example by drilling or sawing.
