12 mm clear tempered safety glass panels, custom cut up to 120 200 cm (1,200 2,000 mm), with ground and polished edges and finished corners. Tempered glass is thermally toughened, making it considerably stronger than standard glass, particularly against impact and bending. It is also less sensitive when hot objects are placed on a glass tabletop, for example. If broken, tempered glass disintegrates into small glass fragments, reducing the risk of injury. For these reasons, tempered safety glass is used for tabletops and as glass panels in doors and windows. Tempered glass must not be modified after production, for example by drilling or sawing.
