Adventures of a Young Naturalist (Viento C7firo, Volume 24)

Description

In 2016, a BBC archivist sorting through material stored in one of the film repositories discovered some rusted cans labeled "Zoo Quest Color." Curious, she opened them and found rolls of the original color negatives, which until then no one1including Attenborough himself1had ever seen in color. They were therefore printed in color for the first time. Those who saw them then thought that, after a brief period of sixty years, they were so vivid that they should be broadcast. The texts in this book are those published at the time as part of three works: Zoo Quest to Guiana (1956), Zoo Quest to Dragon (1957), and Zoo Quest to Paraguay (1959). These were journeys through Asia and South America undertaken to collect animal species for English zoos, a practice that was common at the time. Since then, David Attenborough has published 19 books, and his educational television programs have become the most watched on the planet. In 2009, he received the Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences. Adventures of a Young Naturalist brings together texts from those three works, only one of which had previously been published in Spanish, in 1963. The volume published here is an edition prepared by the author himself and published in London in 2017, translated by Ediciones del Viento (Mar Lesta Conchado) in 2018.
