Heat-resistant stainless steel plate, grade 1.4841, with corrosion resistance. It can be welded satisfactorily and is suitable for mechanical processing, including grinding, cutting, and polishing. This steel is melted in an induction furnace using an open process. It contains 1821% nickel, 2427% chromium, 23% silicon, 1.5% manganese, 0.3% copper, 0.3% molybdenum, and vanadium, tungsten, carbon, and titanium listed at 0% each, along with sulfur and phosphorus additives as specified in the source. Hot rolling is carried out at thicknesses above 0.5 mm, beginning at temperatures above 1,170C and ending at approximately 850C. The sheet is classified by edge condition, rolling accuracy, and flatness. Flatness grades are special, improved, normal, and high; accuracy grades are improved and normal. The edges may be edged or non-edged. If required, the plate is quenched in water or air at temperatures up to 1,150C. Cut-to-size stainless steel plate is used in construction, the automotive industry, the food processing industry, sanitary installations, and chemical plant engineering.
