Chelone obliqua, also known as pink turtlehead, is a deciduous, perennial plant with an upright, bushy habit. Its leaves are dark green, broadly lance-shaped, and serrated along the edges. Chelone obliqua blooms from July to September with dark pink to purple-pink flowers. The plant prefers a position in full sun or partial shade and moist to boggy soil. Turtlehead is very winter-hardy and disease-resistant, tolerates sea breezes, and is fairly tolerant of air pollution, but may sometimes be affected by slugs. Legal information Perennials vary in size depending on the season, so minimum sizes cannot be guaranteed. In winter, they may not be visible at all, making the delivered pot initially appear empty. The leaves will sprout again in spring.
