Clear, transparent 10 mm ESG glass panels with rounded corners, custom cut up to 60 320 cm (600 3200 mm), with ground and polished edges. ESG without stamp. Tempered safety glass (ESG) is thermally toughened, making it considerably more stable than ordinary glass, particularly more resistant to impact and bending. It is also less sensitive when hot objects, for example, are placed on a glass tabletop. If broken, ESG disintegrates into small glass fragments, minimizing the risk of injury. For these reasons, ESG tempered safety glass is used, for example, for tabletops and as glass panels for door and window infill. ESG must not be further processed after manufacture, such as by drilling or sawing.
